About the event

At this summer camp, students will be integrating their literacy skills with areas of science and math, while

using critical thinking to engineer tangible products, and document their projects using technological tools. It is a

full immersion of cross curricular skills!  There will be a different lesson each day that will begin with a 10 minute team

building STEM Challenge.  Students will work together to overcome an obstacle in a limited time frame.  After the students are warmed up, they will be guided through an interactive read aloud of a book that we’ll use for the basis of our projects and activities for that day.  Students will work in a team to identify a problem in the story either with the character, a problem in nature, or a structural problem. Students will then use the Engineering Design Process to come up with a solution for the problem and create a physical prototype or engage in a science experiment that reflects the events of the story.

A math skill will be integrated in the project and students will use technology to either document their project or

will use technology as a tool to research information about the topics being learned that day.  Students will then present their solutions and findings to the other camp members to practice their speaking and listening skills. This camp will be an awesome way to keep your students learning over the summer break!

Camp will take place Mon-Fri from 9am-12pm.

Students will need to bring a water bottle.

The price of camp is $100.00 per student for the week.

**$4.50 online processing fee is added to ticket price.**
